Motorola Sholes Tablet, the second Android 2.0 mobile phone, will be introduced in mid-Dec.

As the first Android 2.0 smartphone, Motorola Droid became the most successful Android handset. Now there is another Android 2.0 device with more powerful features that will be introduce soon, which is Motorola “Sholes Tablet” according to mobile01. The development code of Droid was Sholes. “Tablet” in the new name means it will be a pure touch phone without physical keyboard, though the basic design may be similar to Droid. It will be welcomed by users who don’t like the physical keyboard.
One highlight of Motorola Sholes Tablet is that it will be the first smartphone with HDMI interface (it was said that Samsung i8910 would be equiped with HDMI, but it didn’t), which means the Sholes Tablet will be capable to capture and play/output HD media streams. But some users consider this feature is useless, as the file size of HD media stream is to big for the memory of mobile phones.
Another advantage of Sholes Tablet over Droid is that the camera will be enhanced to 8MP with Xeon flash. It will be the second mobile phone after ZN5 from Motorola that integrate image processing technology from Kodak. Maybe this enhancement is the reaction of Motorola towards criticisms of the Droid’s camera.
Many users are impressed by the speed of Droid as it is still incredibly fast with more than 10 apps running at the same time. However, it is said that Motorola wants to make the Sholes Tablet even faster since TI OMAP3430 (CORTEX A8) can operate at 800MHz. The CPU is limited to 550MHz on Droid because the battery issue. It looks like Motorola has solved this issue now.
