New OTA update of MotoBlur for Motorola Cliq?
Though the launch of Motorola Cliq was muted by Droid, which has newer Android 2.0 system and better hardware, Cliq has its highlight — the MotoBlur, the only mobile service that can sync with Facebook, MySpace, Twitter as well as SMS, Emails and so on.
MotoBlur is a killer mobile app for heavy users of SNS. Though there are some doubts in reviews of MotoBlur, it is the most important reason for users to buy Cliq. I believe Motorola will keep this service/app improved. It is common to have software update via OTA for today’s smartphones. But since MotoBlur seems to be a system app, I would expect firmware upgrade via cable connection to PC (I have done it for several times with my Nokia N73, N82 and Motorola E680i) is necessary to update MotoBlur.
To my surprise, I found somebody mentioned on Twitter that “there’s a new update out for MotoBlur. Go to Menu> Settings> About Phone> System Update.” Since I don’t have Cliq myself, I could not check whether there is really a new OTA update of MotoBlur and what are changes in it. I am curious if somebody can confirm it?
I have a cliq, and it’s report no update available.
Sorry, then it is just a rumor
I just checked and it says my CLIQ is up to date, but yet its running Android 1.5 still. I would hardly call that up to date.
