Impression of Motorola Droid (Milestone) from end users

There are already plenty review of Motorola Droid (Miletone) that can be found on the Internet. But most of them are from professional medias. People who are really interested to buy Motorola Droid (Miletone) like myself also want to see some feedback from normal end users. Since this fancy Android mobile phone is available on market today, more and more comments are coming.

one of first Motorola Droid owners has post his/her feeling about this new Android smartphone:

  • The speed of Motorola Droid is very fast, which not only leaves G1 far behind but also exceeds G2 and Hero a lot;
  • The big screen of Droid makes it very comfortable to use;
  • The sound volume is high enough, which makes the voice navigation very clear;
  • Google Navigation system is really killing traditional GPS vendors like TomTom and Garmin, as it provides more information and details on the map;
  • Google Navigation system also provides street view with routing;
  • When the destination is arrived, Google Navigation system will switch to street view, which is a very considerate design;
  • The feel of Droid is pretty good as the industrial design from Motorola provides a quite solid feeling.
  • The physical keyboard of Droid is too flat and the top line is too close to the screen, which may obstacle typing. Users need some time to get used to it;
  • It seems the battery performance of Droid is much better than G1;
  • Droid has built-in multiple accounts support, which means users can have more than one Gmail, facebook or MS Exchange account;
  • Droid would not become hot as Palm Pre after GPS or 3G was on for a while. The hardware design of Motorola is pretty reliable.

In general, Motorola Droid/Milestone is one of the best smartphones (also including iPhone 3GS and Nokia N900) released in year 2009. Maybe it is still not a iPhone killer, but it could kill BlackBerry, Windows Mobile and other existing Android phones for sure :) Screen shots can be found here.
